Robin Gayle
Robin Gayle Wright was born in Dallas,
Texas, to Gayle (Gaston) who was a national director at Mary Kay, and Freddie
Wright, a pharmaceutical executive. Her home was San Diego, California. At the
age of 14, she started her professional career as a model. She worked in Paris
and Japan. After high school graduation, she became an actor. She was chosen to
be a part of the soap-opera Santa Barbara (1984), where she was nominated three
more times for Daytime Emmys. She fell in love with Dane Witherspoon during the
first season. They got married in the year 1986. Then, she appeared on The
Princess Bride (1987) in the title role. She was given the role of Santa
Barbara but left to appear in Denial (1990) with Jason Patric. It was during
State of Grace (1990) and met Sean Penn. They had daughters Dylan Frances and a
son Hopper Jack. Robin returned to Hollywood with Tara in one of the most
important roles in her career, following an absence. She was stunning and
flawless. She was next seen in Toys (1992) in the film Toys (1992) alongside
Robin Williams. She gave an enthralling performance. Wright was in the
blockbuster success Forrest Gump (1994) with Tom Hanks. She received a
nomination for the Golden Globe Award in recognition of her performance in the
film as Jenny. She was cast in a small part in The Crossing Guard (1995), which
starred Jack Nicholson. After refusing 14 roles, she played the title character
in MGM/UA's Moll Flanders (1996), directed by Pen Densham, and co-starring
Morgan Freeman and Stockard Channing. She then starred in Erin Dignam's Loved
(1997) together with William Hurt.
