Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is an American TV chef and former instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. The spiky blond hair and bubbly persona Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of dining out, and provides concise easy-to-master techniques to the home cook in her Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell is also a part of various top eateries in New York, studied the food culture and culinary traditions of Italy and competed in the Food Network's Iron Chef America. Growing up in the state of New York, Chef Burrell began to develop a love of cooking and food at young age. The Culinary Institute of America was the next step for her following graduation with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Communications at Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America has been a fantastic learning experience for me. I could not learn or be a better cook than I did. Chef Burrell was a graduate of the Culinary Institute for Foreigners in Italy was employed for a year in Umbria at La Taverna del Lupo and Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, which is a Michelin-starred restaurant. Her understanding grew of Italian culinary and cultural traditions during her stay in Italy, which has influenced her culinary style. Burrell is a celebrity ambassador in the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation and has been on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which assists children who are struggling. Her travels are frequent across the country as a mentor and the guest speaker who discusses her professional life and the joy of cooking. Anne declared that she felt fortunate having the opportunity to be able to share her passion for cooking with others.
