Bonnie Wright

Bonnie Francesca Wright was born 17 February 1991. She is an actor, model and director from England. Wright is most famous for her role in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. She was in the role for 10 years, before moving to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 (2011). Wright played in a number of independent films including Before I Sleep (2013) and The Sea (2013). The films were met with mixed reviews. Wright made her debut on stage with Peter Ustinov's The Moment of Truth in 2013 at the Southwark Playhouse. In 2012 she graduated from University of the Arts London with a degree in filmmaking. In 2012, Wright established BonBonLumiere and began making short films. Her first directed project was the coming-of-age drama Separate We Come. Separate We We Go (2012). This film was released at Cannes Film Festival to high praise from critics. She also directed Know Thyself (2016) starring Christian Coulson and Sextant (2016). Both films explored emotional and natural landscapes as their themes. Wright's three-part series Phone Calls premiered at Tribeca Film Festival 2017. Medusa's Ankles (2018) The film stars Kerry Fox, Jason Isaacs and based upon A. S. Byatt’s The Matisse Stories. She has also directed music videos for Scarlett Johansson and Pete Yorn. Wright is an ambassador of Greenpeace, Lumos and has been recognized for her environmental advocacy.
